Bringing God’s Word, love & compassion to the streets where people live.

About

Founded by Hosanna Wong and Guy Johnson in 2015, Word on the Street Global (501c3 nonprofit) brings God’s Word, love and compassion to the streets where people live.

Through tailor-made resources and partnerships with inner-city programs, schools, food pantries, prisons, recovery programs, workshops and outreaches, we exist to meet people’s physical and spiritual needs, and equip others to do the same in their local community.

Our Impact Together

For nearly 15 years Hosanna has spoken in prisons, recovery ministries and outreaches worldwide. Now, through your generosity, technology, and our partnerships with gospel-centered organizations, we are able to create and provide resources that go further and reach more people with the gospel than ever before.

Through our partnership with God Behind Bars we deliver faith-based content to incarcerated individuals via books, DVDs, and video teachings on the Pando app. This revolutionary platform is transforming the way inmates connect with their faith and their families, offering a unique opportunity for spiritual growth and mental health support. Over 415,000 inmates are currently using the Pando tablets, and through Hosanna’s teachings, 3,190+ inmates have given their life to Jesus.

We create tailor-made resources for Celebrate Recovery, a global Christ-centered program designed to help people overcome various hurts, habits, and hang-ups, providing people with the tools and support they need to rebuild their lives, families, and faith.

We partner with a variety of inner-city programs, food pantries and outreaches (including Pop-Up Church, Calvary Street Ministries, The Homeless Church and more) providing vital support and opportunities to families living without homes.

Through these initiatives, 42,230+ meals and food boxes have been given to low-income families, and 86,020+ people have taken their next steps in recovery, given their life to Jesus at an outreach event, or received free haircuts, clothes, and been successfully re-introduced to the workforce.

Hundreds of thousands of resources have been donated to schools, outreaches, prisons, and recovery programs.

Millions have encountered the transformative power of the gospel through free physical and digital resources. This includes teachings, Bible studies, spoken word poetry and devotionals in partnership with Hosanna Wong Ministries, YouVersion, and other local churches and ministries.

In addition to meeting people’s physical & spiritual needs, we teach & equip others to do the same in their local community.

Through workshops, cohorts, and in partnership with other local churches and ministries, 6,300+ writers, preachers, teachers, communicators and leaders have been equipped in sharing the gospel in their local communities through their unique voice.

Our scholarships and resources donated to Rise University Prep help provide college-prep education to 70+ students from low-income families in underserved areas. Over 80% of students are first generation in their family to attend college.

Our aim in 2025 is to increase our impact, see thousands of more people receive Jesus, share Jesus, and to provide more resources and open doors for each person to live out their God-given purpose.

Emilio’s Story

Emilio first heard the gospel inside prison, through video resources Word on the Street provides for inmates all over the US. After hearing one of Hosanna’s teachings, he gave his life to Jesus and told his wife, Melissa that when he got out, they had to meet. They drove hours to the nearest Celebrate Recovery where Hosanna would be speaking, and were both so gracious to share what God has since done in their marriage and lives. They are now helping many of their friends and family members on their recovery journey. God heals lives and restores families. Emilio and Melissa are living proof.

Our partnership with prisons and recovery groups is one of the most important parts of our ministry. We are prayerful & intentional about every resource & message, and are blessed to partner with & serve our friends inside.

“Having spent more than 25 years in church ministry I had no idea when I transitioned to prison Chaplaincy that knowing Hosanna Wong would be such an asset.  It didn’t take long for me to see the impact Hosanna’s words and ministry have had in the life of inmates.  The message God speaks through her resounds within the prison walls, it provides hope and value to those who need it the most.  I am consistently asked when she’ll have more videos available on their Pando tablets.  When Word on the Street donated books to the prison it was an amazing opportunity to provide a sought after resource.  I can’t overstate the impact Hosanna is having in the lives of the incarcerated.”

Stories of the Impact Inside

Recovery & Wholeness for Generations

“For over 9 years we have seen the impact Hosanna’s message has on those in recovery. She comes from their world and gets them, sees them, and loves them like family. The transformative resources from Hosanna and Guy and the Word on the Street team have helped thousands of individuals and families take next steps in their recovery, reclaim their identity in Christ, and grow in their faith for years. We’ve seen so much genuine life-change through this ministry, we are so thankful for their labor of love, and we love them as part of the Celebrate Recovery Forever Family!”
